-Lila's Blessing-

Our Lila Rachel received her name and a blessing on March 29th.
Her day turned out perfect
(although I did misplace one of her shoes and was a little late to the meeting).

Her dad gave her a beautiful blessing and thanks to Rachel's quick thinking and note-taking we are now able to remember some of the words he blessed her with.

We are grateful to our family and friends who traveled through the snowy weather and shared this special day with us.
We Love All of You.
I gave Devin my Camera and asked if he would go around and take some pictures for me due to the fact that I was scurrying around to get food ready etc...
This is what he came back with.

I am grateful for those he did take but I was thanking
my lucky stars I got some of Lila beforehand.
(*note to self, next time you take the pictures or get Carol S to do it.)

-Thursday's Hero-

April 2 ,2009
Collin was chosen as BYU Football's Thursday's Hero.

If you are familiar with Collins story you'll understand
why he was the perfect pick.

Although I consider myself a Ute fan :) I couldn't
help but admire this team for their kindness and enthusiasm.

(Collin... Breaking it Down)

I was in awe as I got to see all of the neat memorabilia, coaches office,

and the many rooms where the different players huddle together to figure out strategies etc...

You could tell Collin was in 7th heaven as he was escorted through their facility and locker room. We were also privileged enough to watch a highlight reel to see the team in action and hear about their different accomplishments throughout the years.

One thing that was impressive to me was the bulletin board dedicated to past and present missionaries who have played for the team.

I had one of those mommy moments were I was thrilled the boys got to see that while it is an honor to play college football , serving an honorable mission is just as important to these players.

The Babies were such Troopers!
(It was cold outside)

(Lila with her New Grandma????)
Thank You Collin for letting us share your special day.

The boys loved every second of it.
We Love You

-Happy Birthday Dad-

You never look for praises,
you're never one to boast,
you quietly go on working,
for those you love the most.
Your dreams are seldom spoken,
your wants are very few,
and most of the time your worries
will go unspoken too.
You're there.....our firm foundation,
through all our storms in life,
a sturdy hand to hold to
in times of stress and strife.
A true friend we can turn to
when times are good and bad,
You are one of life's greatest blessings
we are proud to call you our Dad.
(wish I could say I wrote this, but I only tweaked it a little)

We Love you so Much and are grateful for your
example of dedication, love and patience.

Happy Birthday Dad and Grandpa!
(I guess since you go with the years this makes you 29.)

Lila is darling! I love her blessing dress. I'm glad you had a good day. I want to see Collin's Clip with the BYU team. We always watch "Thursday's Hero's" but I thought it was only on during football season.

Boy.... where do I start....even after a very frantic, frustrating disappointing search for the beautiful little shoe (Lila was blessed in her socks!) it was a wonderful, priceless day... what a beautiful little doll. And.... "what a dress"! Collin's day with the BYU football team was also a priceless moment. And I must say, you can never have to many Grandma's... and I am more than happy to share that role...especially to one who is so worthy and deserving. You're the best Carol.

And.... Dad is the bestest there is!!!

My blog means that I don't have a job for next year and so Chris and I are probably going to move toward Orem, if I can find a job that way so that he can go to UVU. Speaking of which I may need to get you to write me a letter of recommendation if you don't mind. I will try to call you and give you the rest of the details, there is a lot that has went on lately.

Now that I'm not a "clath" anymore...may I just tell you how much fun it is to know YOU and your little family? Did you know your boys shared their Easter candy with me? And you know I'm happy to play a supporting role to GRAMMIE...hard act to match but I'm learning...have to say it made me smile...Lila and I seem to be happy together...unless she's just found out she's not staying at Grammie's...then she's fussy and I can't help her through that! And the other picture stories...LOVED them!
