Welcome Callie!

About a month or so ago our neighbor's cat had 3 kittens. Of course our boys would frequently visit these kittens and each time they did, they would return home and try to convince Mom and Dad that we needed to have a pet. "Absolutely Not!" was our most common reply, especially with a baby on the way. Well you can now see who won the battle of the Mouritsen clan. So welcome Callie! We are sure you'll be the center of attention at our house for a while. Callie of course because every calico cat is destined for that name. (The boys have not been home so we are surprising them with her when they return home on Sunday).

New Addition

There will be a new addition
to the Mouritsen Family.

Stay Tuned...

-A picture IS worth a thousand words-

When I view the blog sites of friends and family my favorite thing to see is the pictures that are posted. Yes, I read through some of what is written but whoever said "a picture is worth a thousand words" could not be more correct. Here are a few more pics from our spring/summer vacations. Going back to our California trip... (May)
First Day was spent at Newport Beach, I think everyone had a ball minus my Dad and Rich due to the fact that there were no parking spots available and they drove around for a couple of hours until the rest of the family was finished with their beach fun. I had fun taking pictures of the kids burying themselves in the sand. (Thanks uncle Cam)

Second day we headed to San Diego where we spent the day at Sea World.

Third, Fourth and Fifth days were spent at Disneyland. My little brother Collin wanted to hang out with the cool people I guess. (He was fun to have along)

Thanks Mom and Dad for this memorable gift. We had a Blast!
New York...

This was I guess you could say a girls' week out. It was truly needed for my sake. Mom, Rachel, Aunt Lisa, Cousin Shaylee and I headed for New York in June. I must say it was one of the funnest and funniest trips yet. We did a lot of sightseeing, got to see "Wicked" for the 2nd time (love that one), Statue of Liberty cruise, shopping and of course good old-fashioned bonding. I really had a lot of fun with these gals.

Some memorable moments for me were bargaining with the street vendors, eating fancy food (not sure what I was ordering off the menu most nights), the Broadway play, taking pictures at the supposed "Friends" fountain (really in California where the T.V. series was actually filmed),

dancing with Shaylee on the cruise, love notes from Dad that were hidden in Mom's suitcase, blisters on my feet, listening to Aunt Lisa talk with City folk, Mom asking for directions, sharing my sleeping quarters and discomforts of pregnancy with Rachel. Again, a lot of fun. Definitely a repeat.

Apologies to R.J. Mouritsen

After I setup this blog, I realized that it is very possible that a person named R.J. Mouritsen is actually out there and that one day he (or she) will go to create a blog and find that someone has already stolen his (or her) perfect url. So let me apologize in advance. I'm sorry Robert James Mouritsen or Rachel Jennifer Mouritsen or Randall Jerome Mouritsen or Renee Joslyn Mouritsen or anyone else whose first and middle initials are "RJ" and whose last name is Mouritsen.

Hello Blogosphere!

The Mouritsen's

We have now officially entered the blogging world. I was so frustrated trying to figure this whole system out that I almost threw in the towel, but with some venting to my husband and a quick phone call to my sis here we are! Just to quickly recap the last five months...

March... Tyler and Brayden turn 11.

April... Caleb turns 7...

News that we are expecting!

May... Devin turns 13

and starts his competitive baseball season, Rich and I celebrate our 8th anniversary,

Rich's last eighteen months of being gone each Mon-Thurs for work comes to an end (Hallelujah!), and a trip to Disneyland.

June... Tyler, Brayden, and Caleb start their baseball season, Devin's 2 month baseball season comes to an end and I enjoy a trip to New York City.

July... Collin's 19th Birthday celebration
along with Independence Day,
Relay for Life (cancer walk),
3 younger boys baseball season comes to an end and I interviewed and was offered the Training Coordinator position at work (which I'm very excited about). Time flies when you're having fun!
