"As Seen On TV"

I've decided to stray a little from my normal blogging routine and post a little something that might hopefully bring a smile to your face as well as stir up some interesting conversation. I expect all who reads to leave a personal testimony because I don't believe for one second you haven't experienced something similar.
Welcome to my topic of...
"AS SEEN ON TV"
Those of you who have experienced pregnancy know all to well the late, sleepless nights in front of the television. You also know that much to our dismay the only thing to watch is an infomercial or two. That's of course how it happened. I saw the most amazing hair styling tool, it's name...
The Instyler

It is silver, shiny and has a rotating barrel. The only thing it requires is a gentle swoop down with your hand and the results...you'll have the most gorgeous mane around. Well of course who can't resist an easy way to get gorgeous hair? Not to mention all the celebrities us it. Oh yes and for only three easy payments of this and we will throw in a free some of that, what's not to love. It was apparently calling my name because before I knew it I was on the Internet ordering this magnificent device. Three weeks later I received my magic tool and took it straight up to my bathroom to see the transformation on my hair. What disappointment! It was heavy, noisy and did nothing more magical than my straight iron would do. Needless to say it has made it's way back in the box and to the post office. (Thank heavens for 30-day trials (:) I laugh as I think back to the times the "As seen on TV" products have gotten the best of me. Devices that cook meat in the microwave (yuck) , Sandwich pocket maker (not bad), The magic bullet (Rich was on board with this one, works fine but we don't use it much), Vitamins to enhance your bust size (yea right) and this is the best one... rubber devices that look like actual boobs, stick them in your bra and walla! (ridiculous, those got sent back as well). One day I will learn.
Now that I have divulged my nonsense I would love to know some of yours... even if your a first time visitor.

Nellie that is Hilarious! I can't believe all the stuff you have ordered. I do have to admit I have been tempted several times, but I have never ordered. Probably because Ryan has been there and tells me "don't you dare!" Maddie on the other hand loves infomercials! She would have us trying ewverything if she got her way! Too funny!

Oh Jeanell!!!!! I have to admit I have come close to making that phone call to order something being advertised on those infomercials but I never have. Sometimes the only thing that stops me is that It requires a credit card and I don't have one anymore. I can only thank my guardian angel that I got rid of credit cards years ago or else I'm sure the "too good to be true" items "as seen on TV" would be cluttering up my house as well. It was great seeing you and Lila today for lunch!

I love that you actually ordered those plastic boobs. We have the magic bullet and it's good, we don't use it as much as we used to. I love informercials. Especially hair ones.

Oh yes, did you ever get access to Ashley's blog? She said she added you.

OH how funny...... those dang infomercials always get me, for some reason late at night they always seem so amazing...must be why they put them on at night, casue we use alot more of our senses during the day:) I also have bought the magic bullet, which I use from time to time, but not like I thought I would, I have bought numerous workout videos ( Which I must say I do use, but definatly did not lose the 10 pounds in 1 week like they say LOL) A set of knifes that claimed to cut through everything ( they are now pretty dull, and a book that had the secret sure to diabetes, which really only had ideas about what maybe could cure it...... I am just glad I am not the only one that gets suckered in LOL

I have to say I got a chuckle reading this...I didn't even know about some of this stuff! I have never bought anything off of TV before but I've been tempted many a time...mostly weight loss stuff.

I laughed out loud! Loved the blog...and let's see...I did BUY an "as seen on TV" item from Kmart a long time ago. The cheap version of one of those $300 mandoline (food slicers). Anyway, it was pathetic...and someone who spotted it at DI probably thought they were getting a SUPER deal! I learned something cool the other night...since even though I've never been pregnant, I've had my share of sleepless nights....ANYWAY....there are reviews on the web sites that users can share their experiences. You'll never buy another thing again if you read those...they are pretty hilarious!! Thanks for the laugh though....I think I'll go turn the TV on just for fun!

Hey Nellie, I also get sucked in! I have never phone ordered anything but I have found stuff in stores and purchased! Most recent (I'm sure you have seen)the GT 360 express or something like that. I lovingly and excitedly gave to my parents for CHRISTMAS! Found it at Target and was so excited not to mention so were my girls, lets just say my parents had not seen the commercial and were not as excited as we were. I'm not even sure if they have used it yet to find out how it worked. I have also tried "Sheer Cover" it was okay. I have a friend who loves their "Magic bullet" Cam has even said he might like one. And Hallie wanted "Space bags" for Christmas because "it is so cool Mom she puts mud and water on it and it is still good in the bag!" No Joke! That is one of the things she asked for! Darn Qubo! When she didn't get it for Christmas she said "maybe the Easter bunny will bring Space Bags."

yikes! That thing looks like a spaceship! I always jokingly tell Kev I want things off of infomercials, like the dance-weight loss videos, or the Jack Lalane juicer... Those are my two favs.
